First Day!!!

WOW, what a whirl-wind of a first day!! We covered A LOT of information in third grade today. Be sure to ask your third grader what does PAWS mean and how to be a Hallway Hero.
Be sure to sign the agenda's on the lower right hand corner, if you have any info that I need, this is a GREAT place to let me know.
Please fill out the yellow emergency contact form, the orange blog permission slip, and the purple discipline form and send these all back tomorrow.
We had a WONDERFUL first day!!!!

Water Bottles

I've been thinking about water bottles. In the past I haven't had kids bring water bottles to school, but I think I'm going to change that. So here's the plan... students may bring a clear plastic water bottle from home, I'd like for it to be a smaller bottle so no larger than a 12 oz, with some kind of locking straw device to drink from, that should help to prevent spilling. Students will only be allowed to drink plain water, and we'll try to dump them out daily to prevent science experiments from growing in them. If a child is having a problem with their water bottle, it will be sent home.

Summer

Well summer is winding down, and it's time to start thinking about going back to school. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful break, and has had time to stay up late, sleep in and read some good books. I have been hooked on a spy series this summer, I'm just now finishing the fifth book, WOW, they are full of suspense!!

Have any of you taken a trip this summer? My family went to Glacier National Park and hiked a lot! I used to work for the National Park Service as a ranger in Glacier so it was fun to show my little boy all the places that mommy used to go, he also enjoyed putting snow down my back! With all of the snow that was still up there, the huckleberries weren't ready yet, they actually still had flowers on the bushes.

I've also attended a couple of different classes this summer, and I'm really looking forward to implementing some of the exciting new ideas I have.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, read a lot, and sleep in while you still can. I'll see you on August 29th!!
